Profile of Engr. Okwudiri Daniel Ohaa (FNSE)

Engr. Okwudiri Daniel Ohaa was born on November 24, 1975. He hails from Enugu State and is happily married with four children.

Early Education and Career:

Engr. Ohaa attended Amuzu-Ukwu Community Primary School, Ibeku, Umuahia, and later gained admission into the prestigious Holy Ghost Technical Secondary School, Olokoro Umuahia in 1986. He completed his secondary school education at Boys Secondary School, Umueze Awkunanaw in 1992.

Tertiary Education and Professional Development:

Engr. Ohaa graduated from Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) with a degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering in the 2000/2001 academic session. He performed his mandatory National Youth Service from January to December 2002 in Ogun State.

Engr. Ohaa has also undertaken advanced training in fire safety management, including:

– Fire Safety Management and Fire Risk Assessment, Fire Service College, Morton in Marsh, UK (2019)

– Fire Safety Design, University of Leeds, UK (2023)

Career Progression:

Engr. Ohaa began his career as a Senior Fire Officer II in the Enugu State Fire Service on October 4, 2005. He rose through the ranks and was appointed as the head of the State Fire Service on July 1, 2016, by His Excellency, the former Executive Governor of Enugu State, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Ifeanyichukwu Lawrence Ugwuanyi.

Achievements and Awards:

Under Engr. Ohaa’s leadership, the Enugu State Fire Service has been transformed to meet international standards. He has introduced best practices in firefighting and fire safety management. Engr. Ohaa has received several awards and certifications, including:
